Jul 24, 2026"Very friendly place. Between the host (Schorsch) and guests, always friendly people around. The food is great with good prices. The rooms (6 in total, 4 double and 2 single) are clean, well furnished and comfy. All rooms have a safe, Cable TV, minibar, and the bathrooms have even heated floor. It's a small guesthouse, yes, but with big hearts inside. Engel (Angel in German) their motto is "Komm als Gast, gehe als Freund", arrive as a guest, leave as a friend, and they haven't failed once. I feel home there."

Jun 28, 2026"Our group of three adults stayed the night in early June. It was the perfect place to stay for people who are touring by bike. It was just off the main path of Swiss bike route #2 (EuroVelo15). As the restaurant was closed the next day, we were unable to park our bikes in the secured area, but there was a bike rack we could lock up to in front of the building that we were assured was safe to use overnight (it was). Our rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, and all the staff were very friendly. We had a wonderful meal and a beer in the comfy patio of the restaurant."

Jun 26, 2026"Nice location and cosy place to overnight. Had mixed feelings though. Here my review: Arrival: The communication from the host is very good. The check in is very discreet and you just get a code to get the room key from a locked box. Parking was free, right in front of the hotel. I had booked a double room for 2 nights with breakfast included. Pricing was alright for swiss standards. The double room: First thing I noticed when entering the room, was the terrible heat. It was 29°C inside (mid august). There is no AC and opening the windows meant... a mosquito invasion. In the nights it barely cooled off and the mosquitoes hindered a good sleep. Insect spray and the little repellant device from the hotel did nothing. Also note that the restaurant's noise downstairs will prevent you from sleeping before 11:30 Besides that, the room was very clean. It had a fridge and a very spacious bathroom. Location: I chose the location since its outside of any touristy spots, very calm and its very close to the Frümsen cable car to the Alpstein/Saxer-Lücke hiking area. Breakfast: The breakfast was simple and good, nothing to complain. Restaurant: The italian restaurant downstairs is pretty good. The pizza was delicious!"
